Yes. Creating your account and setting up your company is free. You only start paying when you enable payroll processing, and pricing is based on active employees. We built PayrollVU using a lot of AI to keep our development costs low—so we can charge close to our operational costs while you get a modern payroll platform at a very affordable price.
What do you mean by “active employee”?
An active employee is anyone currently on your roster (e.g., Active or On Leave). Terminated/archived employees are not billed.
Can employees request vacation time in the portal?
Yes. Employees can request paid or unpaid time off, and your team can approve, decline, or edit requests. Approved time off can be reflected in payroll.
Can employees access pay stubs and year-end documents?
Yes. Employees get a self-serve portal to download pay stubs and access year-end documents without emailing HR.
